it supposed to work like a faucet.

it is used for washing, hands, usually found outside a house

in (Russian) countrysides.

that's how it works. you can remove the cap/cover and put water in it.

push the little thing like tail at the bottom upward or sidewards so water 

finds a hole.

the second picture's called SAMOVAR. used as water boiler for making tea 

during 18th-19th centuries in Russia, which nowadays is quite rare to find.

you remove the cap/cover and that is where you make a fire

from coal or pine cones or let say some small pieces of wood

which later turn to coal anyway.

the second lower ring is for water which you supposed to boil.

the water will have no contact with the coal since you can open the uppermost 

ring without removing the cover of the secon ring.

there is also a small hole on the cover of the second ring so the steam can come out.

...and, if you take a look one more time at the whole figure, there is a pipe which you can turn to get water.

the third picture was taken from the center of  Moscow at the Red Square.

See that small round thing? If you come closer, it's a little elevated and inside

at the center is the mystery picture.

It is LOBNOE MESTO which means LOB (head/forehead) and MESTO (place/spot).

It was the place where hundreds years ago (Czarist times in Russia), criminals and convicts were beheaded.
